This somewhat whimsical watercolour was created in the backyard garden of an artist friend’s home, where a number of artist pals gathered for a casual ‘paint-out’. This is where artists, who love to get outside, escape their studios to plein air paint together and reconnect socially. This 14” x 11” watercolour is on Yupo synthetic paper, which has a slippery quality and never allows me to be too controlling or serious, which I like. Playing with paint and especially letting go of any expected outcomes always lifts my spirit.
