I have sisters, who have always been horse-loving and kept horses over the years. This painting with its dream-like quality is influenced by them and the many horse properties and the horse ‘culture’ that’s developed in the Cowichan Valley and on Vancouver Island. Its setting is not of a particular place, with the hope that you, as a viewer, would find your own place or dream within it.
