This is a small study, an exploration of a concept that I subsequently developed into another, larger painting. The idea came to me because of the many wild fires that occurred during the summer of 2017 and the smoke that blew across Vancouver Islaand, both dimming the overall light of day but especially wildly colouring the sun.
