Night Chase

5 x 7 watercolour on 140# Arches cold-pressed paper -SOLD

This is another small painting, taking advantage of stretched paper I had on hand. It’s just for fun, exploring a night sky. While the setting is different, its subject is from a real experience I had, when lounging on my deck in the twilight. I’d closed my eyes, then suddenly heard a racket of birds. I opened my eyes and right above me was a swooping owl, with a dangling snake streaming out behind, so close I felt I could reach up and touch them. It all happened so quickly. The owl and the noisy birds pursuing it were gone. I was left stunned by the sight, and thoroughly awed.
