Shore Watch

I was thinking about Florencia Bay on Vancouver Island's west coast when I painted this, even though there are no identifying landmark features recorded here to suggest the place. I find Great Blue Herons wherever I go on the coast. They are large birds, with striking plumage and a loud, rather alarming, even prehistoric-sounding call. Do you see the fish he's stalking?
