Heavy Weather

11" x 14" watercolour on 300# Arches cold-pressed paper

Anyone who lives on the west coast of Vancouver Island knows how threatening, wild and wet its winter weather can be, even with relatively mild temperatures as compared to the rest of Canada. Even so, there are plenty of high seas and heavy weather to keep anyone wary when walking its shoreline. I love it and always say: “The west coast has the best bad weather anywhere”! It’s awesome to witness but, being prudent, I always keep an eye to higher ground—an escape route from high-water surges or the unexpected rouge wave, either of which can knock you off your feet (and worse!) if you’re not paying attention.
